The concert at Roseland, made up for all those concerts we got into for free. Akina had
moved to Phoenix at the time, and I refused to go without her, and I also refused to
miss it. So I spent the entire month of May working almost 50 hours a week to afford
to fly her back to New Jersey, buy the concert tickets, train tickets, metro cards,
pay for sustainence while we were in the city, and all those nice expenses. After all
was said and done I spent about $500 on that one concert. We weren't messing around
at this concert, we showed up almost 24 hours in advance, we met Brittany there again,
along with a group of her friends. We were the first group there. This concert was
different, because Deftones was headlining, and aparently Deftone fans don't see the
need to line up so early. So it was a small group of Dir en grey fans well into the
following afternoon. This time, instead of freezing, we got to bake in the sun. Earlier
in the morning, we had all fallen asleep in the alcove of the venue's front doors, and
Dir en grey, those evil evil men, pulled up in the bus, to watch us all asleep. They
sat there, until I realized there was a LARGE vehicle sitting there, and sat up,
alerting the rest of the people there, that Dir en grey had come to watch us sleep.
Everyone immediatly jumped up, cleaned up the floor we had made out of newspaper, and
gathered our things. When it was all cleaned up, is when they decided to leave. We
discovered later on, that they were parked in front of the Duane Reade pharmacy around
the corner. So several of us took a nice walk around the corner, just to see. So the
concert was as expected, incredible. We left before The Deftones even came out on stage,
we were there, for Dir en grey only. We went and relaxed in front of the pharmacy, got
some water, and sat there for a while. Smart move, as we were treated to Daisuke
taking several cigarette breaks on the steps of the bus. It was nice, just sitting there
with him. Well worth the time and money spent.
